MEET THE STAFFWe would like to introduce you to one of the newest staff members of our church family. Ken Robertson has been very busy outfitting our new building with amazing sound and lighting systems and training people to help operate them. Ken Robertson - Technical Arts Director
2. Do you have any siblings? 2 younger sisters 3. Where did you attend high school? Patrick Henry High School in San Diego 4. What is your job history in your field? I started in high school doing sound for Youth for Christ, toured with a musical singing group doing their tech stuff and became musical director at Forest Home. Later, I started my own video company and made videos for such companies as Far East Broadcasting and Campus Crusade. Then I worked as Tech Director at Saddleback for 10 years, Tech director at Mariner's for 8 years, and operated my own recording studio. 5. When did you become a Christian? I was born and raised in a Christian family and I dedicated my life to Christ in high school. 6. Are you married? Kids? I've been married for 35 years to my lovely wife, Cathy, and we have three children (one son and two daughters) and nine grandchildren. 7. What are your hobbies? If time permitted, I would love to go fishing. I enjoy both stream and deep sea fishing. 8. Who is the most influential person you've had in your life not including your mom and/or dad? Why? Other than Dave Burns, my third grade teacher, Mr. Cochran. He was very involved with me and full of encouragement. 9. Who is a famous person you'd like to meet? Why? I'd like to meet Billy Graham, I admire many of his qualities including his integrity, dedication to the Lord's call in his life, the love for his family and how he fearlessly proclaims the gospel. 10. Who is your favorite musical artist or group? The Eagles 11. What radio station is on most often in your car? KNX because I am still commuting from Mission Viejo and they have traffic updates every six minutes. I also listen to 107.9 and Charles Stanley. 12. What is your favorite kind of food? Mexican 13. What is your favorite restaurant? Casa Trejo in Yucaipa 14. What is your favorite movie? The Princess Bride. I like it because of its classic characters, comic genius and the good guy gets the princess in the end. 15. What are your favorite books you are currently reading? The Sin Eater by Francine Rivers and The Shack by William Young. 16. What is your favorite TV show? NCIS 17. What is your favorite childhood memory? Fishing with Grandpa 18. If money were no object, describe your perfect vacation? If seasickness wasn't a problem, I would sail around the world. 19. Do you have any nicknames? Yes, but not sharing... 20. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Breyer's Cherry Chocolate Chip 21. What is your favorite sport to watch? Football. Favorite team is the Chargers 22. What is your favorite sport to play? Volleyball 23. Do you have a favorite Bible verse? Psalm 100:5 "For the Lord is Good, His mercy is everlasting, His faithfulness continues through all generations." 24. What's the furthest you've been from home? Indonesia (filming videos). I would like to go to Austria, if given the opportunity. 25. What is the most memorable experience you had going to Africa with the Hillside Team? Meeting Juli McGowan and witnessing her dedication, her love of God and her skills of being highly educated nurse. She gave up her comforts and offers herself to what she believes the Lord would have her do. And I loved seeing how the orphans can go on with life after the loss of so much.
